Head Coach – Cumberland Valley SC

A native of the greater Gettysburg area, Marcus Garcia Jr. brings an impressive blend of professional experience, international exposure, and local passion to Cumberland Valley SC. His journey reflects the heart of the game—discipline, resilience, and an unshakable love for soccer.

Marcus began his collegiate career at NCAA Division I Robert Morris University before transferring to PennWest California University, where he earned All-PSAC Second Team honors in 2019. His collegiate success opened doors to the professional stage, where he trained and competed at elite levels.

While still in college, Marcus was invited to join D.C. United’s U23 squad, earning valuable training sessions with the MLS First Team—a testament to his technical skill and tactical understanding. His professional path took him across borders, signing with Deportivo Zitácuaro (Liga Premier – Serie A, Mexico) in 2020 and later Cedrito FC (Liga Nacional de Ascenso, Honduras) in 2021. Though global circumstances and clearance issues brought him back home, his drive to compete never wavered.

Back in the States, Marcus continued to make his mark with the Harrisburg Heat (MASL), Philadelphia Spartans (MASL 3 semifinalists, 2022), and Maryland Bobcats FC II, showcasing his versatility across both outdoor and arena soccer formats.

Off the field, Marcus has proven himself as a leader and developer of talent. He currently serves as Head Coach for Baltimore Celtic Soccer Club, and has also coached within the Gettysburg Youth Soccer Club, Gettysburg and New Oxford Middle School programs, and the South Central PA Soccer Academy. His coaching philosophy emphasizes fast, intelligent, and fearless play—an approach that mirrors his own career.

Beyond coaching, Marcus gained valuable professional operations and marketing experience as an intern with Loudoun United FC (USL Championship) and now serves in his second season on the collegiate coaching staff at Gettysburg College.

Under Garcia’s leadership, Cumberland Valley SC is set to ignite Franklin County’s soccer scene—bringing professional-level play, community connection, and electric match-day energy to the region.
